The Professional Career Course can only be taken on a full time basis, i.e. Monday - Friday for 4 consecutive weeks.
The cost of tuition is as stated for each of the individual courses as listed. All course fees must be paid in full in accordance with the terms stated . A registration form must be completed and accompanied by a 10% deposit before a reservation on the selected course will be confirmed. All deposits are non-refundable. The balance of the course fee must be paid upon receipt of invoice and no later than 28 days prior to the commencement of the course. Each student must complete a registration form individually. The signature of the person on the registration form will be deemed to be the one responsible for the contract and the payment. Should a student cancel their booking within 28 days of the commencement date of the course, Dapper Dogs will endeavour to sell that place to another student, failing which all fees paid will be forfeited and any outstanding balance will become due immediately.
Dapper Dogs would advise students that they should, if possible, attend the salon for a 'Taster Day' prior to committing to training costs. This could help you to decide whether dog grooming is what you want to do. The fee for a 'Taster Day' is £50 which, if a course is subsequently booked, would be deducted from course fees, but is otherwise non-refundable.
Short courses (Assistant Groomers Course, Improvers Course and Pet Owner Course) can be attended either in blocks of days, or on a weekly or bi-weekly basis, or a combination of both, to fit in with the student's other commitments. An attendance schedule can be negotiated on booking a place on the course.
Students are expected to be punctual and to co-operate with colleagues so as to ensure the smooth running and congenial atmosphere of the salon throughout the duration of the course. Written training aids will be provided for each student throughout the course to enhance their practical learning skills. Students will be given basic home study work to complete between attendance days. On completion of the selected course a Certificate of Achievement will be awarded and issued to each student, together with a detailed completed workbook listing skills aquired and evidence of training in the City & Guilds Modules of dog grooming.
In the event of a course having to be cancelled by Dapper Dogs prior to the starting date, for whatever reason, a full refund will be made to the student. It should be noted, however, that Dapper Dogs accepts no liability for additional expenses such as travelling, accommodation fees or other related costs that may have been incurred. In the event of any course having to be cancelled by Dapper Dogs before completion, for whatever reason, participating students will be offered a refund proportionate to the time lost, or offered the opportunity to continue the course at a time to be mutually agreed.
All students are fully covered by insurance against claims by owners of dogs upon which they have worked during the course. Dapper Dogs would like to advise all students to ensure their tetanus vaccinations are up to date. Dapper Dogs will not be held responsible for any mishap that may arise as a result of any student not having done so.
Daily refreshments, including tea, coffee and cooled drinking water are provided. Students are required to provide their own daily luncheon. Fridge and microwave facilities are available.
Students are asked to give details of any medical disabilities or allergies. Dog grooming is physically demanding and involves standing for long periods. If you have any concerns regarding potential health issues please make us aware before booking a place on the course and consult your own G.P.
These Terms/Conditions together with a completed registration form constitute a contract between Dapper Dogs Grooming Limited and the student.
