This course gives you an insight into the world of dog grooming and prepares you for employment in a grooming salon as part of the grooming team. Your course will focus on the preparation of dogs for styling and you will gain experience in a wide variety of breeds. You will be taught all the basic grooming skills and will learn how to use all of the specialised equipment including the automatic drying cabinet. You will work under constant supervision from our experienced staff who will do everything possible to assist you throughout your learning curve so that you feel supported and gain confidence.

This course does not include clipping, trimming and styling,
 

This course is designed to teach you about:

• Health and Safety in the grooming salon
• Uses of grooming equipment
• Lifting and restraining dogs
• Brushing and de-matting using appropriate tools
• Cleaning ears
• Cutting nails and dew claws.
• Using shampoos and treatments
• Dealing with Parasites
• Correct bathing procedures
• Correct drying procedures (including specialist drying cabinet and forced air blaster)
• Basic care of equipment
• Basic animal care

COST - £450  All major credit cards accepted (card  administration fee applies)

This is a 5 day/35 hours course, from 9.30am to 4.30pm, which can be completed  in a block or by attending either 1 or 2 days per week (depending upon availability of places).
