This course is designed for groomers who have already acquired basic grooming skills as described in the Beginners Course, and who wish to advance to learn clipping and scissoring techniques whilst gaining experience of a wide variety of breed trims. This course provides you with the skills needed to groom and style a dog, and is also a  progression route towards achieving the City and Guilds Advanced Certificate.
 

This course is designed to teach you about :-

• When and how to pluck ears
• Checking and emptying anal glands
• How to use clippers to remove hair between pads
• Sanitary / hygiene clips
• Use of scissors and thinners for feet
• Setting pattern lines
• Using a wide variety of blades for styling as well as clipping
• Using toe blades (e.g. poodle feet)
• Trimming and styling using scissors and thinners
• Basic anatomy, animal health and good practise

This course does not include hand - stripping or specialised scissoring i.e. Poodle or Bichon Frise.

This is a 10 day /70 hours full time course, from 10am to 5pm, Monday - Friday
